How to prevent videos from auto-playing
Jan 23, 2021 - 11:04 PM hours
Hi,
I really like transfermarkt but one thing that annoys in my frequent visits is the auto-playing videos. You visit a player's profile and boom some random manager is shouting something in a language you don't understand.
My question is, is it possible to disable video auto-plays? If not can you make it configurable?
Best regards and thanks for maintaining the best football site on web.

Yes, indeed, auto-playing videos are annoying. That's the reason why i came here to this forum for the first time in order to figure out a way to cancel them.
This is a call to the board!
Could you please make the auto-playing videos configurable? They must be played by users' choices.

Hey,
blocking autoplay videos used to not work with Firefox. With the new version 66 of the Mozilla browser, which will die in the following days, that will change. In the future, you will find a new option for media autoplay under Settings> Rights and Security> Permissions. You can make a general selection between "Autoplay work" or "Autoplay does not affect".
When visiting a website for the first time with autoplay relationship problems Firefox will display a dialog box that will indicate whether the user is playing properly or not.
The decision can also be changed later. To do this, when visiting a website you click on the information symbol next to the address bar and you will find your own autoplay point there. Alternatively you can click in the above-mentioned menu under settings on the point "notification" and on websites of the administration-general-autoplay-video-bans.
Hope I could help

They don´t autoplay for me and I use Firefox.
I can´t really remember if it was an issue earlier on, but a good advice is always to try out different browsers before tinkering with settings, that way you are certain, it is a "browser" issue
